The Market Play

Few days back I was reading Mr. N. R. Narayana Murthy, it is really amazing to read his writings. Though every word of his writings give you a kind of dimension about his life, his work, his ethics but I was more curious to know about the pre economic reforms and post economic reforms journey of an Indian entrepreneur.

It was truly thrilling to know when a man had to apply for an application to import 150MB hard disk and wait for another six months to get application sanctioned. His writing gave me an idea how IT sector went viral after those economic reforms and how ventures got benefited from it like never before.Being an entrepreneur Mr. Murthy's every word was thanking that visionary thinking of India's former Prime Minister Mr. P.V. Narasimha Rao, which changed the structure of the country 360 degrees.

In a huge market like India, things go viral overnight. Sometimes even producer of the product can't believe that the product he made thriving the country. There are lots of instances where we can see how trivial things went viral and sore the sky and swept the market all together.

Those are the days I was even not born when India won its first ever cricket world cup in 1987, till then cricket became the undisputed religion of a secular country and with no doubt cricketers the God. It went viral then and there is no hope it will stop ever (at least in India). Those are the days back in my childhood, I can vaguely remind around 1997s when a weekly soap on television went viral. India's very first super hero Shaktiman. Kind of Superman fictional character, cashing ever high TRP for Indian government TV channel Doordarshan. I remember those days when our lives were completely guided by this character. Market in every sector also enjoyed it's share of pie. It was a time when garment manufactures were highly banking on the costumes of the Indian hero. For every kid the these costumes were the highly aspiring thing of his life and always remained at the top of his wishlist unlike Steve Jobs bitten apple now.

It was the time when a sweet chewing gum Boomer went viral. Many others eloquently followed this trend. This gum hardly had gone that viral after people knowing they were chewing sweet latex and it's harmful for their health if the company had not conceptualized free tattoos and stickers for kids. Those were the days when the meaning of  the word tattoo was that flexible body character, who can save your friends from any misshapen. Kids used to feel proud of having the bright and shining collection of those tattoos. Probably I feel those marbles were almost replaced by these tattoos and bets went more sophisticate. Really kids have been the unbeatable market strategy and panacea.

All these things are relatively viral till time but the only difference is the meanings has changed. Taste has changed so as those fictional characters. Lots of things went crazy in market whether it's small or large in this time period. Last year a real man, a singer, a composer, a so called viral marketing teacher Mr. Dhanush went viral on internet. The list is not exhaustive at all. It's said 'only thing which is constant in life is change', Indian market has been always an eyewitness of this. It was a time when mouse, cat, dogs used to rule the animation world but  now all these are replaced with human caricatures and are equally famous too. I have heard people commenting "why are there two nostrils in one nose ?" but being frugal is not always the right way to do business in India. People here need full value of their money, otherwise they will not embrace you very long.

cheers !

What's the secret ingredient ?

How much time it takes us to make things easy, from crappy, hazy idea to transform it into worthy information or does it really worth to consider about it ? There are lots of such questions often comes into one's mind. But condition applies, only when it's given a thought prior to move on. The Indian education system has evolved a lot from earlier time as I am being told by my father. But somewhere down the line we remained unable to erase the foot prints. So we can say we have improve our walking style but we still like to follow the engraved foot prints.

Someone has nicely said, "for gazelle every morning starts with a thought how much it should run fast so that it can save itself from the fastest of the fast lion and for a lion the same morning starts with a thought how to prey on the slowest of the slow gazelle so that it doesn't sleep hungry." Things are subjective indeed.

It's really important to express what we feel, but what is more important is that we have a healthy discussion over it. Conversation often makes things easy. What we can say about it is, it's a free service what can give you a lot. This time I am going to share similar sort of conversation with an army person who was also a victim of day to day increasing inflation like other common men and is ready to discuss about his air tight budget planning anytime with those whom he feels can understand what budget means. Though it was nothing related to family budget since he was a retired army person and I am a college student. According to him it's hard to understand the meaning of monthly budget for me.

I met the army person at a salon where he came to get his not so lengthy hair get trimmed. It was an interesting discussion going on between the person and the barber that in this inflation it's really hard to survive. According to him he can get 19-20k per month and in this salary he has to survive with his wife and children. He said for the people like him, not to talk about hotel food where it's hard to arrange pulses. It remind me the recent planning commission's report where it suggested Rs.32 per day earner is not a BPL !

His talk about hotel remind me a post I read sometime back where he says people come in restaurants because it's an occasion for them, he goes there because it's a requirement. Nice observation indeed ! But this time situation was different. For the army person it's neither requirement nor occasion but still he wants to visit hotels and restaurants. I find nothing wrong in this. Why would anyone find it wrong ? Don't we visit our neighbors without any reason ? Don't we go to amusement parks, movies without any reason ? He wants to go but can't because according to him it's the thing that only rich person afford not a common man. I was shocked it's the condition when we say in India we are enjoying ever high per capita income of around 60K !  Certainly we don't have equal distribution of money around. well...

We generally prefer home food than hotel or restaurant food for various reasons. Affordability is one of the reasons. But in India food is not the thing which can be taken for granted anytime. People have their own tastes, flavors and colors. It's not necessary that all these qualities can only be found in a restaurant food. How can we forget about Indian street food. These street vendors serve the same taste and flavor but yeah hygiene remains an issue most of the time. Here money comes into action. These street vendors have to arrange things in limited funds where they have to trade off between taste and ambiance. They choose ambiance most of the time.

I have no idea what a student is being taught in a hotel management institute. If they are feed with conventional knowledge or taught about above it, because we are always not sure about what we are taught in a B-school. Why can't we get a place where a person thinks first about what should he eat than to how much should be in his wallet to eat that ? After all we like pay for what we eat not like to eat what we can pay for. It's worth thinking about what can be the secret ingredient that can make one's food available for everyone prior to noticeable barriers.

Cheers !!

The Maths Notebook

We are all set to curtain off the turbulent 2011 with a new zeal and hope for a soothing year ahead, but amidst all these turbulence we forget the small nitty gritty things about our life which sometimes we get to know from our youngers. It's new year eve, where I am sitting thinking to write something to welcome 2012, in my balcony. Children playing in the street and their noise on one hand disturbing me to think something potential, on the other hand amusing me to see how energetic and hopeful about the day ahead. Probably they don't know the harsh reality of the world or I am highly pessimist about tomorrow. whatever...

Rinku my neighbor's son is also there enjoying his winter vacation full on now a days. This boy suddenly remind me a small happening when I visited his home for some work. That day in morning his mother was bargaining with scrap collector on the price for old books and newspapers. I had some work with Rinku's father. I completed that and was coming out when I noticed Rinku arranging his notebooks in two piles. I just tempted to ask him why we was doing so, because all those books were to be given to scrap collector finally. When I asked him he told me in one pile there were his previous year math notebooks and in other pile the scrap books to be given to scrap collector.

Meanwhile his mother came in and told me Rinku never let his old math notebooks sell. It was a different experience for me to see a child loves his maths notebooks so much. I asked him to let me see his previous years notebooks. He brought all which had collected till then. I saw that dog-eared notebooks with pale yellowish pages, embellished with pencil, somewhere with pen too. I asked him why we collect those old notebooks, what could those be use of ? He told me that those notebooks comprises the maths formulae which his teachers made him write down, which is useful for him in new classes too. He doesn't need to rewrite all those again. I pass him a smile and return back to my home.

That day I learnt a very beautiful lesson about life. Over the years we have learnt lessons from our teachers, our elders, our colleagues but it's really amazing to learn from a child. A child with all his thoughts are so contagious. We elders reside more towards probability and predictability unlike a child who never believes in all these things. Rinku never thought about the number of formulae, would be useful to him in future, which would decide whether that notebook being sold or not. He just put it aside because in his sense it's useful and that's enough.

We like the fresh smell of new book, but we should always remember the dog-eared pages comprises the real stuff. In the end I would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year. May we have a prosperous and cheerful 2012.

Cheers !!

At Another End

It's around 1 Am when I am in some fix. I think approx 90% of the population is in their bed at another end of their own world. This figure 90% is not a kind of hypothetical figure but it's from my observation to my surrounding. From where I am sitting right now I can see around 15-16 building around me and around 13-14 are in dark, some 2-3 buildings are in light at this time. So I assume this figure as a global. But it's not that rigid though if you don't like my concept you can forget about it and can enjoy the rest post.

Things are always best when they are at their extremes. I don't know who was the guy whether, a genius reader or a writer who said "Books are the best friends of human being" It's like whether there was an egg first or a hen. But it's for sure that he/she was a tremendous thinker. Thinking is a kind of process which starts churning out thoughts without any pre alert. We are taken to some new world where only we and our thoughts rule. I can say it a sandbox where we are testing our thoughts. Most of the time we think because we are bound to and sometime we think because we want to bind ourselves. I am not a consultant or any carrier counselor but I realized this talking to some guys in general who were in sort of dilemma about the next.

I remember, when I had to select a stream after passing matriculation for my future. At this time I had to thought because I want to bind myself with something essential for me. Now when I am full grown up and can feel the heat of future responsibility, I am thinking because I am bound to. It's a kind of sensational thinking process when you at one end and thinking about the weather at another end.

So till now what I wrote is something general I realized but what's the fix I talked about in first line. Well it's that what feels a person happy when he/she is reading anything. Whether it's the writing skill of a writer who wrote it so beautifully that the person just can't stop himself reading it or the reading ability of a reader that sensed the real essence of the testimony and stamped it as a worth reading text. I know most of us would be agree on the fact that it's a group task, accomplished simultaneously. But here I think when you are be a reader or be a writer, you are the only player in the field, this time what feels you justifying your work. I am till in fix. The answer is supposed somewhere from first generation reader/writer who setup some guidelines to which we are following till now. There is an analogy to this as we know in business the first success principle is "make it in cheeper place and sell in costlier" we can generally read at first page of any business book but the person who had said this first had certainly not read it in any book but he/she earned it from his/her experience. We are at another end and I want it to get fixed.

For the time I get my all fixes fixed, think mill is on and workers are at work.

Cheers !!

The last few things

"The last few things, things forever"

I don't know who said these words or had said ever but these words just popped up into my mind when I was thinking about the post. These are the days or I should say last few days of my graduation life. Everyone around me is as crazy as I am. Some composing friendship songs for his/her friend. Some just stumbling upon facebook and twitter to show their sentiments and some who has nothing to do (like me) is just scratching his head over these last few things. We are partying, we are hanging out with friends, we are nostalgic but this is all about life.

Most of the time I realize the curiousness about the last few moment in our life is more than than about the first few. Children curious about the last day of their school more than the first day. People like to see the last sight of the sun (sunset) more than the first (dawn). We are more curious about the final results than the initial preparation. It's human tendency that we want to live our future and we get to know that there is an end in near future we want to make that moment immortal. But these last days are more scarier than the first day.

Last moments are never easy to handle. Sometimes it's like an unknown feeling that makes us more confuse about our plans. We don't know whether we are happy or sad, exited or nervous, clear or vague about things. A very simple example, I often see my youngsters even experienced the condition, when we are in examination hall. We know it as exam phobia. These are the last few moments we are thinking about future, how my performance would be. It's really never easy.

Through out our college life we spend some quality time with our friends but last moment is like we were living in a house as a paying guest, we used things, some of them became a part of our life and finally we have to move to another city and leaving those things for others. But we enjoy these moments. This enjoyment is amorphous but relations are not. We not only spend few moments together, we actually share few moments of our life with some special people and perhaps this is the reason why we love these last few things so much. :-)

Cheers !!

Authenticity is directly proportional to Goodwill

It's going to be a very quick post because of some time constraints. Actually it was going to be a tweet before but hard luck twitter, you just allow me to sum this up in 140 letters, but it's not that quick too.

From my childhood, we are being taught about authenticity and goodwill in concern of a person, in concern of an organisation. At that time it seemed to be little impractical. We hardly notice these notions more than just another english words, but now it feels immense sense in these words. Your authenticity in work pays you in form of your nice goodwill in market, your trust in your customers and life long credibility. We can say the more you are authentic, the higher is your goodwill bar. Authenticity never comes in a day. It depends on your work. One day when I was talking to my friend searching for some fund raising for his work, I feel that it's true.

Actually this post is about another experience of my life related to local news channels. Being an MBA aspirant I often discuss with my friends about the Indian news channels' way of working, the kind of news telecast but today this was the day I felt this.

This was an another morning and at breakfast table as usual I switched on my T.V. It was a local news channel there telecasting the news about the death of Osama. I stopped there a while and listen to them what they were actually saying. It was really unbelievable news for me. Last night when I was on internet till 12 AM, there was no signs of this kind of news in air, what happened in few hours. I moved to BBC channel for the confirmation of news. The same telecast was going there too. At that point of time I found confirmed with the fact that 'Osama is really dead'.

Actually it was not my fault. Perhaps I am not the first person who has doubt over the credibility of local news channels' news. For the sake of TRP, for the sake of audience ENJOYMENT if you are compromising with your work, I would not allow it to my life and perhaps that's why I had to switch over to some really authenticated news channels for the confirmation of the news.

Cheers !!

Information and Affection, The Dangerous Duo

The greatest differentiator of humans and our triumph as the alpha species on the planet has been our increasing ability to record and share our collective knowledge and information. We are living in a kind of universe where information is begin to be counted into the list of the fundamental requirements of a human being. Sometimes the situation seems me as we are dipped into a pool of information at our throat. When I saw the daily startups growing in the different corner of the world, I found one thing common to all, that's most of the startups tend to process this information and present as a beautiful gift to their customers rather than a raw. From wikipedia to wikileaks everybody is ready to do the job for you. You just need to know the exact URL and that's it, rest is on them.

I came to know facebook is using users' private information , wikileaks is continuously threatening world and lots more, but what scares me a lot about information is it's non static nature. Information has no boundaries at all so as the form. We sleep in a kind of world and wake up in an another kind of world. You never know how many new apps have been created mean while. For the code you were searching a night before, has been baked till morning. Apple launching a new i-product daily may seem to be cool but it's not that cool, atleast for persons like me who have to think twice to change their two year old cellphone just because the newer version is little slim :-) . Thanks to these information vending machines, who process all the raw material so nicely that we even can't say how far we have traveled in time. Was this the Time-travelling concept ?

Now when I say the rapid changing form of information, I would like to say the rapid change of information riding on the shoulders of those before to reach further. This is still interesting. No doubt generation is thriving information rapidly, but how much information has reinvented their own wheel, that's important and this scares me too because today we are doing better and faster but ultimately where we have reached it's difficult to say. It is said that globalization in India is one of the main reasons why there is irregularities in money distribution to different class of people. Some how I find the same situation with information across the globe and it scares me about the future.

There is an another thing which seems me as a better half of information, that is affection. I realized how even affection can be dangerous to us, while I was watching the movie Kung Fu Panda. Conditions are not much different in our surroundings The affection of parents towards their children, sometimes make them no more than a dump. It's been such a long time experiencing this so called 'affection', specially in India you will never feel recess about this. This really scares me when I relate this to information because information has a pace and affection as a speed breaker, either slow down your car or be ready for accidents. Affection can be related to anyone. The affection of a father towards his daughter, the affection of a girl towards her boyfriend or of boy towards his girlfriend, a nostalgic affection for youth, affection to money and even someone says an intensive affection towards your startup is equally dangerous.

At the end of this post I would like to say Information and Affection, these are the two most dangerous vital things we'll need to survive in future, only a better rhythmic and balanced ride can get us reach to the ultimate destination.

Cheers !!

Jal, Jameen aur Japan

Basically the meaning of the title of the post is 'water, land and Japan'. Actually the title represents the kind of crisis occurred in Japan few days back in the form of Tsunami (Water) and earth-quack (Land) and after that the form of Japan. First of all I would like to pay my homage to the people who unfortunately been a prey of this catastrophe. May their soul remain in peace.

Well in recent time there have been lots of happenings such as Egypt freedom, Libya crisis and now this natural calamity. We know Japan not only because of America's nuclear attack at the time of world war-II but Japan is the kind of country which teaches us lots of important things which sometimes we lack. Sometimes I am so astonish that how this low populated country abled to manage itself after world war-II destruction. Just few million people stand up with in 6-7 years on their feet and challenged world as the third largest economy of the world. This time the total population of Japan is just 127 million far lower than other countries. These facts certainly astonish anyone. When I read about this, I came to know that there was a study to know what propelled Japan growth so fast and results were really amazing.

What study told is that the working philosophy of Japan and other countries is far different. It's this philosophy that stimulate the growth so fast. This philosophy includes-

1. Zero Defect Japanese believes in zero defect policy in their product which raised the bar of reliability of their products up. We have so many examples in our day to day life too, such as in electronics media Sony has still no competitor if we talk about Indian market.

2. Just In Time This is a management term I read somewhere which Japanese follow in their work. JIT policy restricts them to procrastinate the work. They understand the value of time so as the preparation of their product.

3. Kaizen This is another management term which means 'continue process management'. This policy tends them to work continuously for betterment of the product, to improve the employee management for increasing the work efficiency.

4. Total Quality Management In businesses, this term is frequently used and thus Japanese work on this strictly. This philosophy says to work continuously to improve the quality of the product. This is complete customer satisfaction philosophy of working.

Besides these few policies points Japanese has a vast lexicon of management skills which certainly useful for a user who wants to learn how to work exactly and efficiently, such as Japanese has a value of their employee even at the age of physically non working. There is a Life time employment philosophy which cares their employees at every age.
One most important and personally I feel great, policy is that Japanese don't have hierarchies at their workspaces. That means the status of a fourth grade employee is equal to a first class employee. Which makes them continuously focus on their work rather than their position. If in any case it's there then it's not that rigid that in other countries of world is.

So these are few points I feel to share with you about this mammoth economy, about which we just talk but in actual sense it's something to be felt. Every country has its own work philosophy but it becomes interesting when you have a deep thought and study over that philosophy by others that's what Japanese has.

I salute the spirit !!

In my concluding notes I'll pray to almighty for Japan and its people.

Cheers !!

Understand your itch

Great ideas come up from your itch.
It's well said that you have to scratch your own itch self. But what this itch actually is ? Is it natural or due to any itch powder, you have to understand before scratching it. I am surrounded by some geeks who have tremendous ideas. They know very well how to work and what to work. I must say they don't have the word 'compromise' in their dictionaries. I have learnt this nice sentence from them 'Scratch your own itch'. It's rightly said and I think most of the startups are also based on the same theory.

I have a problem, I want to get it solve, in-spite of wandering here and there keeping problem on palm let me solve it and that's what scratching own itch means. We are living in a fast and furious world and that's the biggest problem around. You don't have any other option instead of being fast and furious. Neither others have time to time to take a look at your problems nor you should have to show them. It's not about surviving because if it were how can freelancing be so successful. We don't have all the fingers of equal length in our hands so as we are. We all have our own thinking, own way of working and interpreting the problem. Suppose what happens if your thumb pretends like your little finger or your middle finger as your index finger. The situation seems little terrible.

To have an itch is a nice thing but to understand the nature of that itch is most important. You are living in a community surrounded by some extra-ordinary geeks. You are living there not because you want to but because your parents work there. The geek environment is their need. You see your friends coming up with some fabulous ideas with full of adventure and innovation, but you can't think like those, because you are different. You are baffled, because you are not praised by anyone like your friends are praised. Now you start continuously thinking. You want an idea to come into your mind which you can say is your itch, and finally you get an idea which some how is a skewed form of an existing one and you say it your itch. You start working on it, enter into market but you realize your mistake when you are kicked out of there.

I think this is not a natural itch, this seems like you are powdered by someone and you interpret it as your own itch. You were actually prey of your own. You tried to be someone that you are not. That is how I feel sometimes when people start doing what they are not meant for. I think compromise can a well suited word for them. They 'compromised' with them. An itch never generates on the body of those who compromise in fact they tend to scratch others itch. So better be what you are and try to understand the nature of your itch.

You seems like itchy ... just share it :-)

Cheers !!

Social media, worth loving

'Social' the word is so tightly fastened to us from the very primitive age that in my view this is most oldest thing we are carrying with us till now.
The meanings of the word are different for everyone that i wonder how firmly one can define 'social' word so easily at wikipedia. But I hope those are the writers own thoughts not a rigid fact.
For me social media is like a coin whose at one side you have information regarding the value of the coin on the other side it's who, about whom everyone has their own views some bad some morose. At the value side you have some rigid facts you can never deny those, on the other hand you are free to put your own thoughts regarding information actually it varies.

Social-ness comes out from our socialities, now it's up to us how we define our socialities. One of my friends who is an art student loves surrounded by drawings, sculptures and all those amorphous things which even don't have any sense for me. He rarely likes social gatherings and noise. It's his sociality.
On the other hand my room-mate for whom a day without a social gathering just like a waste. No age limits, no friend circle barrier matters him. Facebook and twitter like social pubs are the vital part of his life.
For my uncle who is a businessman every social gathering are where you have a chance to discuss about your plans, your business, your work no more than it.
and so on. These are few examples in my life where I see how people define their social life according to them but one thing I like most is, there is no place for religion in their social life at all. So as the social media. As the economy revolutionizing, world changing so swiftly, technology changing it's side social media emerging like a super start.what used to build brands and business once is not what builds them now.

One can certainly wonder how it's happening at lightning speed, I think it's because you don’t have to choose sides, social media is not a 'Religion'. Everyday alternate day I find myself with a new startup advocating it to be something different from the recent ones, with a bright idea, molded into a social jar which will serve its users full comfort with lots of apps icing on the cake but I would simply say I love this non religionist. We already have a very vast lend for religion, cast, gender, colour altercation, but this digital world is not that vast. Keep it noise free. We certainly have much more reasons to love this social media but as I said it's not a rigid fact, this is the reason why I love social media.

You say what makes YOU love 'Social Media'.

Cheers !!

Bits and Bites

A last post at the last hour of the last day of the year. it feels really amazing doing things at the last moment. It most of the time thrills a lot, blood in veins run as if blood corporals are racing each other, 'a feel'.

Through out the year hundreds of good, bad or worst things happen, but at last day forgetting all those bad memories we just wish the upcoming year to be best. We repeats most of the things we had done last year at the same moment. We take resolution, we wish our dear-ones, we start things with a new zeal but we forget we had done the same things last year, but I think that's the most interesting behaviour which shows we are social animals. We can't leave to be social anyhow.
Well that is something random clicked in my mind about humans, now it's time for me.

It's very difficult to summarise even in brief how was your departing year, and really even I don't want to do it too, but still there are some confession, some cheerful and some morose moments I experienced through the year I'd like to share with you.

Life is all about ambition and a student is full of the virtue in my point of view. The ambition to do something at my own, the ambition to stand along not alone. Same in my case, days passed and itch increased fortunately found someone to go along and build something.
Yeah I do confess it was my mistake taking my ambition with light hands and unfortunately it remained unknown.
Learnings : New things to learn, a lesson, how to work and lots more.

Life never ends at you only. You have some relations, without talking about them, you are incomplete. Yeah I was fail at first attempt but some of my nice friends were really doing great. Crossing milestone going ahead.
Again I do confess it was not a ill feel but a strong fire like situation from inside, why not me ?
Learning : You make your destiny at your own. World never wait for you and neither you should.

Found really great things to be learnt, sometime amazing feeling with work, telling about yourself and of-course listening about others. One most important thing I would like to mention is the changes I feel inside me with respect to past year. I stated interpreting things in reality, I start analysing the facts, I start feeling the things, about which I was unaware previously. But still this 'I' is not complete, a great hard work is still waiting for me.
Some true, some false, some bit, some bite, sometimes '1' another time '0' that's life only. We always tries to make it true, always to be '1'.

Now summing up this post, as a social animal, being an ordinary person I wish you a very Happy New Year. May God grant your reasonable wishes :P

Cheers !!

Didn't know to don't know

Life is all about you can never predict the next moment. You are just made to say "I just didn't know it will happen to me." We think about future in present and about past in future. Somewhere this is worth doing so otherwise it's really hard survive in this world. From the very first day we learn to stand on our feet or I should rather say we learn how to speak or write, we are said to tell about our future plans.

I remember one instance of my childhood when I was asked the same question by my school teacher. perhaps that time I even didn't know what actually she meant by 'future', but as I said till that time I knew how to speak so anyhow I managed to answer her question and told her my next weekend plans. she just passed me a smile. I too. :)

It actually happens lots of time with us too. We generally tend to ask our younger relatives the same question, sometime we surprise them asking this sort of question and mostly they, answering us about their 'future plans'. Really rightly said future is unpredictable.
Childhood is all about inventions. We do some sorts of inventions and when we find a sophisticate working on the same principle we made by paper or other household thing we reach to the apex where we feel us from another universe and here we start weaving our future.

This never changes by the age what change is the method of working. This time first we investigate then invent so that we can save our time. But it's not thumb rule when you work for finding loop holes. One most common phrase 'Oh I didn't know it exist' changes to 'I don't know whether it will exist or not'. But I don't think there is any problem with both the phrases because both the phrases are made after work and that's commendable. It's a beautiful journey we enjoyed working on our ideas, our thoughts learned by our mistakes by others mistake. What matters is your work, your efforts that will certainly pay you.
I am still enjoying this journey, tasting the sea food at each island I am crossing.
Hope I'll see the land soon. :)

Cheers !!

What do you expect from 3G ?

3G ...
One of the big 'G' in technology world, the upcoming storm with lots of potentialities, expectation, simply a churn out of imagination. 3G is well known from a long time overseas but a new born in India. Number of telecom giants which are struggling from a long time going to carve a niche for themselves in upcoming days. BSNL due to a government telecom company was enjoying the pulp till now but now it's time to prove it among different players in an open playground.

Fortunately Tata Docomo is the first private player going to launch its services very shortly and it'd be a nice experience for me having a most popular technology in my hands. But as I talked about the expectation, these expectations differs person to person. I read many of articles talking about 3G technology and its features but my expectations are bit differ again. May be completely :)

First of all I expect and hope a nice launching of the technology with some really attractive offers and plans and I think it'll be.
Now what these plans and offers can be according to me -
I don't want to have a yet another Rs. 125 at Rs. 125 plan, why don't we grow ? Why not you say, you purchase our services we'll serve you with our platinum services, again I never mean some sort of monetary help or any fake promise by platinum services. Why don't you promise to share your knowledge bites with willing persons ?

Video conferencing feature of 3G technology is the most attracting feature for telecoms. I say why you Rs. 25, Rs. 50 rebate on specific plans or even a good amount after snatching even a good amount. Why don't you offer them to save money and to meet their loving ones face to face with that money ?
Again for premium customers you have better chance to show your gratitude towards them.

A fast internet service, instant and reliable connections only at a cost of some silly bucks ? I never admit it.
Why don't you try to collaborate some really worthy minds work for the beneficiary of yours ? Why a geek should be treated as a silly ass ? Why not treat them with their own workspace on internet with the same plan you offer them to put some really silly amount again in their pocket.

Most of the time an ordinary person spends his/her time surfing social networking sites, surfing free images, mostly without any purpose just to kill their time. Why don't you be a purple cow among the cows grazing hay on the ground. Why don't you try to make some really good initiatives in spite of making people blind with silly offers like "buy one get two free".
School children always refuse to use mobile phone specially internet enabled or if they are allowed, only with a great care of porn free surfing. Why don't you take a stance to replicate in another form of mind set which offer school children to use your product ?

It's always said that 3G has a really telecom potential, the capabilities to formate the world in a new glassware. So why do we still stuck with the old customary, why don't we have something new which force us buy a real worth.

I am not an expert, but what I think these are the real things we often miss even we have a solid business plan in our hand just because we never try to do something new at our own risk. We just tend to follow or remedies what other have done before.
These are some points I expect from upcoming 3G technology not merely a service like others. Lots of more ideas floating around but time and tenure both needs when you want to explain something. :)

So that's it for now. Wish a healthy launch of 3G technology in India on the festival of Diwali.
What you expect from 3G now, just think and just shout here.
Finally wish you all a very happy and prosperous Diwali.
Have fun !!

Cheers :)

Do you have problems ?

It's so long wrote here, but yeah I am here to write something just popped up in my mind. Do you have problem ? 0_o

Ohh.. no no I am not asking you, it's just a question my teacher friends, my teachers, my colleague used to ask me. Yeah it really funny but it's true. But why did they do so ? I asked them too, and the reply was "you ask a lot of questions" and I asked is there anything wrong in this ? What if I ask questions ? Actually asking questions doesn't always implies you are big dumbo, but that you can not always know each and everything. Problem is not you are asking a lot of questions, problem is that you are not being answered appropriately. And yeah here that's the problem.

Problem never comes alone. Problem is generated by questions which is generated by an idea. The idea which is not being discussed yet, the idea which is not being excecuted yet. So the questions are obvious. But ideas get excecuted only when you have power to question. But to whom ? To yourself, to your surroundings ...

I have six men which do it for me (yeah it's really tough job for single :D) These are What, Why, When, Where, How and Who. Really hardworking team which only works for you 24x7. If I have any idea I just consult with them and they churn out the idea. Churning out idea is not only the job, analysing the problem is on the basis of questions is the main job. If you can analysis the problem accurately you are done. And that's the step where most of tumble down even me. Analysing the problem in both positive and negative way can help you to judge the problem at a very extent.
I give you an example,
one day I went to a xerox shop for some papers to get xeroxed. I saw a man sitting there at shop and dictating a Hindi written document in his hand to the typist, who can type in Hindi very conveniently. As a get my document xeroxed I saw the man was done with the document typed in Hindi and was handing the typist a not of Rs. 50. The document was hardly of two pages. I met the man outside the xerox shop and asked how can you pay Rs. 50 for just one page of document typing. The man glared at me as if I have asked him about his asset. He replied so what should I do. I don't know how to type in Hindi, so I get it typed and according to shop tariff it cost Rs. 50. I remained silent. Not because I hadn't any reply what he said, but I it was a normal problem, which generated an unanswered question for me.
Why the man do not know how to type in Hindi ?
What if the man do not know how to type in Hindi, is this a big crime ?
and so on.

Surely I am not the first person facing these type of questions. May be the person is the first one who developed google transliteration service. A service which just demands from you the ability to type. Translation is purely handled by the service. See again it's a problem that generated a question, which further genearated an Idea and it leaded a nice service.

That was a very trivial problem, but solution only incured when someone had questioned to someone else about it and thoughts flowed. We see several of these types of instances daily but never pay atttention to these issues or I should say never question about these.

So moral of the story is simple that

"We question not because we don't know about the fact, but we want the thoughts to flow and ideas to collaborate for humainity."

So I again ask you , Do you have any problem ? Lets discuss ! :)

Cheers !

A Letter to Rain

3 June,2010                                                                                                  Nikhil Bansal,
In the cloud,                                                                                        Bikaner , Rajasthan
Troposphere.                                                                                          334001,

  Respected Rain ,

Myself Nikhil Bansal from India. I am a student from Bikaner (Rajasthan). You might familiar with the place. This is a personal letter to inform you that it's been very long time you have visited our state. Last year you visited our state like a true Indian leader. But this year hasn't yet. Although your colleague as DUST , SANDSTORM , HEAT , HUMIDITY etc. have already been marked their presence and still present continuously, but as you know we human need each and everything in proper proportion , it's access in quantity now.

Sun appears as stopped revolving. When we wake up it's there and remains shining till late. It's not we don't like shining but it gives many more things along with light which causing people die here. It's not human beings are only suffering but animals also in the same state. Since they can't write so they want me to write for them. You know about "pigeon" , the bird only drinks your water , yes it's also suffering because it's now enough long it had drank water.

We are proud to be called agriculture based economy in the world. But it's really sad when we came across the news that about 1500 farmers committed mass suicide just because last year you didn't poured you water for them. We know that in west of the Aravalli range, the climate is characterised by low rainfall but there is difference between 'LOW' and 'NO'. We know you are angry with human behaviour of wasting water everyday and wants to teach a lesson but in my humble opinion it's enough now.

Dear rain we have some facts which may help you to take decision if you should visit Rajasthan or not. here these are -

1. It's time for a pre Monsoon now.
2. Currently are under forest of Rajasthan total area is 9.53% and according to Rajasthan forestation policies its productivity will be increased massively.
3. To set-up Rain water harvesting system in houses is compulsory.
4. People became more aware and enthusiastic about plantation.
5. Dense forest has improved in last 10 years.
6. North- East India occupies 25 percent of India’s forest cover.

So these are a few facts you will be happy to hear and wish you will visit Rajasthan this year for sure. One more thing I would like to tell you that our Rajasthan is a very nice and colourful place. that's why we call it "Rangilo Rajasthan" also and you will certainly enjoy your trip here.
Concluding my latter I would like to say this is the time of vacation for children , time of examination for college students and time of plantation of corps for farmers so please do come in time and make our life better than now.
In hope for a good rain this year,

Yours sincerely,
Nikhil Bansal

Right to education or Dance ...

Hello Friends ...

The post is something about the leading future of our country for which ambitious outlook of Government of India passed a bill Called "RIGHT TO EDUCATION" but lots of reality shows proving it as to be Right to Dance. Take a look how ...

Right now television the most famous source of entertainment and information after internet in India. This television at present full of reality shows that seems to be interested in making children dance. Does this worth any how? We have hardly much longer time that we our education ministry passed the Right to Education (RTE) bill and our kids moving to these reality shows. This is certainly out of my approach why do the parents of these kids doing this harming their academics.

I do agree these are also the important parts of development of a child but not more than their intellectual knowledge. When I see these shows it seems me like cheating these kids. Think how a kid will feel when he/she has prepared with utmost dedication for this competition and not get selected just because someone else has performed with a little bit cuteness or performed some steps which made judges euphoric.

I simply mean to say, are these kids who I don't think even able to understand the meaning of this title which they might get one day from these shows , can understand why they get refused. I am just talking practically, I don't mean anything will they take any lesson from this or not but at this instant they will certainly going to demoralized.

I feel so bad about these show also because no one of these trying to understand the children mentality but just following a hardcore line. Reality shows like Dance India Dance l'il masters, Chak Dhoom Dhoom which having so experienced jury are just repeating the tradition , just because of TRP ? well God knows , but I think this is not the right way to find out the current talent of country.
There are lots of reality shows for kids as Bournvita Quiz Contest, Spell Bee which also tries to find out the talent but in decent manner not sitting in front and laughing on children expression vigorously.

I am not talking about the core talent which seriously deserves these kind of reality shows to expose their talent but we all know the number is really less in comparison to others who just dance so that they will get a chance to appear on silver screen. If talk about the village children who don't have enough money just to register theirself to these shows , what will be our argument supporting these shows?

Their are lots of such children who remains behind the curtain even if they have abilities. I simply means to say inspite of spending piles of bucks on advertising or opting highly experienced jury to raise their channel TRP can the channel owner not organise such a show which really worth. We the audience don't feel like waste of time.

Our group is doing such a nice work this time. Being a member of Linux User Group it's my responsibility to get my audience aware what our group doing. We at present working under OLPC project. Under this project our team members teaching village students operating laptops freely. Since this laptop is specially designed for children specially village children , student getting interest learning it. This is really nice for OLPC organisation , a non profit U.S. based organisation who is creating educational opportunity for poor children and really proud to be a part of its activities.

We have different types of children between us. Everyone has his/her own capabilities. It would be nice if we understand these capabilities in spite of making them understand our capabilities. I wish for a bright future of these kids. After all "Padhega India Tabhi To Badhega India". ;)

Cheers !!

A week under free flamboyancy

Hi friends..

I am embarrass writing this post after so long time but due to some hectic schedules I didn't get time to share my feelings with you.
But now as I got some time I am here to share something nice with you. :)

This is something about what I love a lot. This is about a time period that thought me a lot of things. I am talking about our college Linux Users Group "LUGB". A group with which I am working since December 2009. Recently LUGB organised a complete week for spreading FOSS culture and to aware people what actually FOSS is.

That was really as awesome experience for me. Working with FOSS and making students aware what they actually losing without it. LUGB is at present an active community for everybody who loves FOSS and who wants to learn about FOSS.
Recently LUGB is working to get people familiar with FOSS side by side spreading it to every corner of our region.

So we called the week as LUGB Week. The week started on last monday and we started from our college Engineering College Bikaner where fortunately FOSS culture flourishing faster than any other place. So we aimed the week to get our juniors aware about FOSS who thinks Computer == Windows. So primarily we maintain a team who is eligible to bust all these sorts of myths they had in their mind. So enough reason why we named our first talk as "Myth Buster".
That was fully interaction based talk where our team members busted all the myths they had about FOSS and Linux.

A nice strength of students gathered for the talk and as I said It's the place where FOSS culture is flourishing faster than any other place, proved us. Feedback by students were awesome and many of them were die heart impressed by FOSS. But as we have planned for a week we had 5 more days to go.

So the next day it was the day called "Drupaldum". We simply want to make our talks interesting so we choose the topics which a normal student might be interested in. And here comes an idea about web designings and Drupal seemed to be a best example how we can work collaboratively. A complete talk about Drupal installation and workings was given and made students familiar about the web.

This was about two days working of the group. Different people from group arranged very nice and interactive talks under LUGB. The week covered each and every aspect about FOSS from software development to Hardware interfacing. Into Hardware section my colleagues make student aware about arduino , beaglebot etc.

So thus complete week was full of fun and freedom. Lugb is recently working with Mr. Shyam Sunder Jiyani the man who claimed his name twice into Limca Book of world Records for planting more then 2 lakh plants in a sort interval of time.

At last , It was a nice week for me to work for LUGB as well as FOSS. Me myself completely in  love with FOSS and working with Drupal from last eight months.
So that was all about my last week which I called A week under free flamboyancy.
:)
cheers !!

:)
